IN THE FLESH: Older works

The following paintings were painted in the period from around twenty to ten years ago, before I took a long break of 5 years from painting. The record is incomplete - these are a random few which I happen to have photos of. Should more of them turn up, I will post them here on this page.

In attempting to set some kind of order to the pictures, I have divided them into two categories: a) paintings, b) sketches and drawings.

None of the artworks that appear here or elsewhere on the blog are here for sale. Many of them have already been sold and I do not intend to sell any of the remaining ones because experience has taught me that my art cannot fetch decent figures. I will not part with work I am proud of for financial offers that do not do justice to the time, skill and thinking that went into the creation of the works. If you feel that you could come up with something better than 200 euros, then I might consider your offer if the work is available (the ones that are available are marked by an asterisk) but please do not waste my time with offers below that figure. I hope you do not mistake my candidness for arrogance. I was deeply hurt by the falseness of people who heap praises on you and then turn sour at the suggestion that they should pay 200 euros for a painting of yours. All I am doing is protecting myself and my sense of self-respect. I am sure you can understand.

What matters for me -above and beyond financial considerations - is appreciation: it's enough if you enjoy the pictures and, if you want, you can leave a message or a comment regarding your feelings about the works. I would really appreciate that.
